# Argus

Brings our drone footage in, checks every copy and archives it before anything is deleted.

- Platforms: macOS
- Stack: Swift 6, SwiftUI, Swift Testing
- Status: Our own tool, preparing for launch
- Since: Sep 2026

Argus is our own Mac app for drone footage. It brings in the videos, photos and flight records from the drone, its memory card and its controller. It checks every copy with SHA-256, archives the files to Google Drive and groups them into flights.

It is our own tool. Nothing leaves a card until its copies are verified.

## We verify the archive before we delete anything.

Every file is hashed with SHA-256 as it is copied in. A file leaves the drone's card only when two copies are safe, one on our disk and one on Google Drive whose hash matches. Just before it is deleted, the file is read again on the card and its hash is checked once more.

## We keep the history as append-only logs, one folder per Mac.

The history is a set of event logs in iCloud Drive. Each Mac appends only to its own folder, and a reader merges every folder by event time. A write that fails waits in a local outbox and is replayed later.

## We never change an original.

The files from the drone stay as they came. Every export is a new file.

## We keep the keys in the keychain.

The Drive token and the key that reads flight records live in the macOS keychain, never in files or settings. They reach the sync tool only through its environment.
