Support
A remote for Samsung Smart TVs that run Tizen (2016 models and later), over your home Wi-Fi. No account and no cloud: the app talks to your TV directly. Write to adnan@wapps.co with your iPhone model, iOS version, and TV model.
The app does not find my TV
- Turn the TV on, and connect the iPhone and the TV to the same Wi-Fi network (not a guest network).
- Allow Local Network access: iPhone Settings > Apps > Couch Remote > Local Network.
- Still nothing? Tap “Enter IP Address” and type the address shown on the TV under Settings > General > Network > Network Status.
The TV does not show “Allow”
Look at the TV while you pair: it shows the prompt for about 30 seconds. If you chose Deny earlier, allow “iPhone TV Remote” again on the TV under Settings > General > External Device Manager > Device Connection Manager > Device List.
The TV does not turn on from the app
On the TV, turn on Settings > General > Network > Expert Settings > Power On with Mobile. Some TVs stop answering on the network after a long time in standby; try again after a minute.
Apple Watch
The watch app sends keys through your iPhone, so keep the iPhone near the watch with the Couch Remote app installed. The Digital Crown changes the volume; a double tap is Play/Pause.
Touch Speed
If the selection on the TV moves too fast or too slow, change Touch Speed: on the iPhone in the More sheet (swipe up from the bottom of the remote), on the watch on the second page.
Try it without a TV
On the first screen, tap “Try Without a TV” to see the remote with a simulated TV. Nothing is sent.
